Publish with Oakleaf Press

At Oakleaf Press, our support is shaped around each writer and their work

Writing a book can feel overwhelming, particularly when you are navigating unfamiliar ground. Our role is to offer calm, honest guidance and help you find the right support at the right time.

We work with trusted independent editors, designers, marketing professionals and web designers. Oakleaf provides the guidance, oversight and coordination included in your chosen package. Additional professional services are quoted separately, agreed with you in advance and paid for directly by the author. Oakleaf does not add undisclosed commission to those fees.

Manuscript Support

Manuscript support is often the first step in making your work professional. It is about taking stock and looking carefully at what you have written.
This may include feedback on early drafts, guidance on structure and flow, or support with memoir, historical writing, and personal stories.

Oakleaf Press helps you understand what kind of support will be most useful and connects you with a professional suited to your work.

We remain involved to help you make sense of feedback and decide what comes next.

Editing and Development

Editing does not need to feel intimidating.

We help you navigate the different stages, from developmental editing through to copyediting and proofreading.

Oakleaf Press works with experienced editors who respect voice and context.

We help agree the scope and timing and ensure each stage builds naturally on the last.

Cover and Interior Design

Design plays an important role in how a book is presented and received.
Support may include cover design and interior layout for print and e-book formats.

Oakleaf Press helps you work with designers who understand publishing standards and your potential readership.

We oversee the process to ensure practical details are handled carefully and the finished book looks and feels true to the work inside.

Website Development and Online Presence

A website is no longer a luxury for an author. It is your own space, one you control, where readers, journalists, event organisers, and booksellers can find you without relying on third party platforms.

For some authors, a website is about selling books directly. For others, it is about visibility and credibility. A good website gives your work a home, allows you to share your story, list events, collect newsletter sign-ups, and make contact easy.

Oakleaf Press supports authors in developing clear, practical websites, from simple author pages to book landing pages and online shops. Website work is carried out by independent web designers and paid for directly by the author.

Oversight of website development is included in the Gold package and available as an optional add-on for Silver projects. Bronze support includes initial guidance only, helping you decide what you need before committing to a website build.

Publishing Support

Publishing involves many decisions, and it is easy to feel unsure.
We offer guidance on publishing routes, ISBNs, formats, and distribution options.

Oakleaf Press helps you understand your choices clearly, so you remain in control of the process.

Marketing Guidance

Marketing does not need to be loud or overwhelming to be effective.
Support may include identifying your audience, planning a launch, and thinking realistically about events, media, and online presence.

We help keep expectations grounded and manageable.

Full Service Packages

Some writers prefer a more joined-up approach.
Full-service support brings together editing, design, publishing, marketing, and digital presence, with Oakleaf Press overseeing the entire journey.

You have one main point of contact, clear timelines, and hands-on support throughout.

Our Approach

Our aim is to help you bring your work to completion with care, confidence, and integrity.

We provide clear, practical guidance at every stage, bringing together trusted professionals when needed and ensuring writers always understand their options, costs and next steps.

Every project is different, so our support is shaped around the writer and the book – not a one-size-fits all process. We do not upsell unnecessary services or lock authors into work they have not agreed to.
