Oakleaf Press Packages

I wrote the book. I learned the rest the hard way.
Sometimes a quiet chat at the start is all it takes to make better choices.
Oakleaf Press works in partnership with authors. You invest in the professional production and publication of your book, while we provide the publishing guidance, oversight, coordination and support needed to bring it professionally to market.

45-Minute Publishing Consultation £85

This online consultation offers an objective session to review your plans.
It is designed to help you understand where your work is, what it may need next, and whether writing and publishing are the right path for you at this point.

The call may cover manuscript readiness, editing needs, publishing routes, web presence, and next steps.

The consultation fee is deducted from any bronze, silver, or gold package booked within three months.

Publishing Oversight Packages

Distribution makes a book available for retailers to order. It does not guarantee that bookshops will stock it, that retailers will display it prominently or that the book will achieve a particular level of sales.

Oakleaf package fee
This covers Jane’s guidance, oversight, coordination, reviews and publishing support as described in the chosen package.

Additional professional services
Editing, proofreading, cover design, typesetting, website work and other specialist services are quoted separately where required.

Printing and proofs
Proof copies, author copies and any print run are paid for separately unless the written package agreement specifically says otherwise.

Retail sales
Printing costs and retailer or distributor deductions are taken from each sale before the remaining sales income is paid according to the agreed account arrangement.

Distribution
IngramSpark distribution setup and Amazon availability guidance included. Distribution makes a book available for retailers to order. It does not guarantee that bookshops will stock it, that retailers will display it prominently or that the book will achieve a particular level of sales.

You will always know who is carrying out the work, what it costs and what you are agreeing to before it begins. Oakleaf does not add undisclosed commission to independent professionals’ fees.

Important: We can’t do it alone

Successful book marketing is a partnership. Oakleaf provides marketing guidance, promotional support, materials, ideas and opportunities, but authors are expected to actively promote their own books using their networks, social media, personal and professional contacts, community and local connections. Oakleaf cannot undertake all day-to-day marketing activity on an author’s behalf.

Important: what may cost extra, but we can help…

Your Oakleaf fee covers the guidance, oversight and coordination described in your chosen package. Specialist work such as editing, proofreading, cover design, formatting, typesetting, printing, website development and other production services may cost extra.

We do not carry out every specialist service ourselves. We work with trusted independent professionals and oversee the process so that the right people are involved at the right stage.

If your book needs work outside your Oakleaf package, we will explain it first. No additional work begins, and no additional cost is incurred without your agreement. We understand that publishing is a significant investment, so flexible, staggered payment plans are available on request.
