About Us

From manuscript to market place

Oakleaf Press is an independent publishing-support company. We guide authors through the publishing process, coordinate the professionals involved and oversee each project from manuscript to publication.

We support the essential work that follows publication, including metadata, retailer listings, IngramSpark distribution and ongoing publishing administration. Authors have one trusted point of contact while retaining control of their work and the freedom to sell signed copies directly.

Oakleaf is not a traditional publisher offering advances or selecting manuscripts for publication at its own expense. Authors fund their own publishing projects and retain control of their work. Oakleaf’s role is to provide professional guidance, oversight, coordination and continuity.

About Jane Buckley

About Jane Buckley

A storyteller… and a huge supporter of storytellers

Jane set up Oakleaf Press after learning the publishing world the hard way. She made costly mistakes, trusted people she thought would guide her properly and discovered just how confusing publishing can be when nobody explains what is actually going on.

Oakleaf grew from that experience. Jane wanted to build the kind of publishing company she wished she had found at the start — warm, honest, transparent and supportive. No smoke and mirrors. No nonsense.

Oakleaf works in partnership with authors, providing publishing guidance, oversight, coordination and support while connecting them with the professional services their books need.

And Jane is very clear about one thing: publishing the book is only the beginning. Oakleaf will guide, support and create opportunities, but authors also have to get behind their own books and help build their readership.

For Jane, it is simple: do things properly, treat authors with respect and help them avoid some of the expensive mistakes she made herself.

The Stones Corner Series by Jane Buckley

Jane’s own series of books offers something for everyone.

The Stones Corner series aren’t wrapped up in ribbons and bows, nor do they offer simple happy ever after endings. Instead, they delve into hard-hitting storylines, showcasing the cruel realities of the past while interspersing heartfelt moments of love, family loyalty, and black gallows humour.

While initially targeting the younger generation, Jane has garnered a surprising following from both men and women who lived through the conflict, captivating readers from all backgrounds.

Above all, Jane’s message remains unwavering: we should never forget the terrifying realities of that era and strive to prevent a return to darkness.

The Stones Corner series offers something for everyone, beckoning you into a world where a street’s name holds echoes of violence yet ultimately reminds us that the Province, to this day, still treads on very thin ice.
